Eulalia was one of a kind!
When she came over to our home, the house energy changed. Her laughter and stories filled the space. I remember her taking over the kitchen one day and boy did we have a feast!
How about her dog that drank beer.
Skiing was always fun with her. As a young skier she would carve a path for me to follow down the steep sections and then when I was a more accomplished skier, she was there waiting for me at the end of the tree glads. I never felt lost at the ski center because I knew I could find the ski club by listening for her laugh. The lodge would be full at lunch but us kids followed her laugh and found the group sitting eating their cheese, salami and crackers while talking and laughing together.
My one regret is that I do not have a picture of Eulalia in her costume she would wear at the ski center during races to entertain the crowds.
Last year when visiting mom, I talked with Eulalia and she retold all sorts of stories with me on the phone. Her favorite story by far, was the day the skis ended up flying across the thruway. We had driven miles down the mountain and never lost a ski until the we went fast on the threat and the skies flew everywhere. Thankfully no one was hurt just the skies.
She was a good friend who heard about the love of Christ from mom and dad. I hope on her death bed she bent her knee. As I share her story with friends, I will be sure to share how often the Lord's love was shared with her and that living life to the fullest on earth is nothing in comparison to living life forever with the One who promises and gives a full life eternally. Romans 14
Many fond memories friend! You were a good friend to our family.
