Obituary of Josephine Feldi Larson
JOSEPHINE FELDI (FUOTI) LARSON, born in Lansdale, PA on March 30, 1928, died peacefully on October 31, 2021. Josie, or Jo as most knew her, was the 9th of 10 children born to Salvatore and Guiseppa Rampulla, who immigrated to the Philadelphia area from Sicily.
Josephine loved her brothers and sisters, and they were some of her dearest friends. Her Catholic faith was how she defined herself. She was also very patriotic and served her country as a Naval WAVE (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) from 1950-1953. She served at USNH in Portsmouth, Virginia, at a time when few women served as soldiers. It was during her Naval service that she met her future husband of 56 years, Arthur (Bud) Larson - a Minnesota native of Swedish descent.
Jo and Bud had three children: Leslie (Don Katz), Scott (Karen Ensslen), and Kimberly (Bill Neumann); five grandchildren whom she adored as they all adored her — Chloe, Austin, Dash, Jack, and Grace. Not long ago, Jo got to meet and hold her great-granddaughter, June. After Bud’s death in 2011, Jo moved into the Ann’s Choice community for seniors, a place she loved, and there she developed a special companionship with Paul Owens, who was kind and devoted to her for seven years until her passing.
Josephine Feldi Larson was a “natural” in the kitchen, cooking wonderful meals as if by instinct. She had a way with people and enjoyed art. A colorful, warm woman, she was never shy about sharing her thoughts and opinions.
Josephine loved, was loved, and will be missed.
