Obituary of Regina Marie Locchetto
Regina Marie Locchetto (nee Corso), 71, former longtime resident of South Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 with her family by her side.
Regina was a graduate of Saint Maria Goretti High School, class of 1970. A South Philly native for 60 years, she spent her early years working for the federal reserve bank and later enjoyed the rest of her career as a child caregiver to local families.
Regina's house was filled with the scent of authentic Italian dishes made from the heart, (but if you didn't like it, “I won’t make it no more”.) Her tables were surrounded with great memories, along with her contagious laughter.
Regina wore many hats in her lifetime, with daily phone calls to her girlfriend Ginger, meetings with her mother’s club, and weekly zoom talks with her childhood girlfriends: Frannie, Big Roe, and Little Roe. She was also famous for her role as “Director of all Things”. She enjoyed spending days down the shore with her husband, family, and her little pal Peewee. Regina will be remembered as a beloved genuine woman inside and out. Dearly missed but never forgotten.
Regina was predeceased by her parents, Marie (nee Marchiano) & Blase Corso; her brother, Norbertine Brother Blase Corso. She was the beloved wife of nearly 50 years to Anthony Locchetto; loving mother to Brian Locchetto (Andrea) & Anthony Locchetto. Regina is also survived by her adored granddaughters, Fionna & Brielle Locchetto; brother Michael Corso (Jackie); Uncle Gus Corso (Yolanda); along with extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held for Regina Marie Locchetto on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Daylesford Abbey, 220 South Valley Road, Paoli, PA 19301 from 10-11am. Following her visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
