My Aunt Kathy also known as “Sister Murphy” delivered all six kids in my family including me. She would invite us to come stay over the summer and go to Hidewsy Swim Club to have fun with our cousins. Almost every Sunday, she would bring her Mom known as “Auntie Sis” to my mom’s house with a box of cream donuts and cinnamon buns. Uncles Tom and Tim would join and my mom would get the step ladder to get their “dividends” from the top shelf which was their Canadian Club. “For medicinal purposes” Auntie Sis would say. Aunt Kathy was always there for my mother. She was very supportive. She was also the keeper of the family tree. And she documented the rich history both in England and Ireland. She enjoyed learning and knowing the history. Soon after her only brother, Buddy died, she was with me and my parents helping to make funeral arrangements for my brother Johnnie and we went to lunch after at McNally’s. It was a combination of laughing and crying. But I know my mother appreciated her being there. I always enjoyed Easter at the Kightkep’s and the Easter egg tree Aunt Kathy kept. I will hold her close in all of my fond memories. I offer my deepest condolences to my Uncle Joe and my cousins at this time. Love, Lisa
