Obituary of Kathleen E. Lightkep

Kathleen (Murphy) Lightkep of Hatboro, passed away at home on Thursday, August 30th surrounded by her loving husband and children.

Kathy was born in Chestnut Hill to Harry and Kathleen Murphy.  Kathy graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a degree in Nursing and enjoyed her career in the maternity department of Chestnut Hill Hospital.  An active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kathy also enjoyed working in her gardens and spending time with her friends from the “Under the Tree” group at Hideaway Swim Club where she also served as President.

Kathy is survived by her husband Joseph and their four children:  Susan Montella (Gerald), Joseph, Stephen, and Colleen.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Melissa and Michael Montella, and Elizabeth Lightkep.  She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Harry “Buddy” Murphy. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday September 5th 9:00 A.M. at St Joseph Church 1795 Columbia Av. Warrington. Funeral Mass 10:30 A.M. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local SPCA in her memory.
